Well, I bought Matt's '66 1/2 ton. Now we knew it had some problems, but didn't know it was this bad! Poor little engine... :)
If Matt & my friend BJ hadn't been there to see it drive up onto the car hauler, I would never have believed this engine even ran, let alone could power a vehicle. When I finally took time to look it over, I noticed the radiator was dry, so I filled it and started the truck... there was water running out around the #6 exhaust manifold. Well, I thought that was the only problem with the truck. After taking the heads off, I see that there was much, much more wrong with it. #4 had blown out about 1/4-1/2 inch of head gasket, a little "slot" to allow pressure and fire up toward the oil passages. #3 & #5 were joined by a lack of gasket between them, and no gasket from them to the oil passages. Looks like only #1 & #2 were even trying to keep the truck running!! Our "Big 6s" seem to be able to function on " 2 " !!!!

And now:
The HEADS and Head Gaskets:
Now remember... this truck RAN and was able to drive up an incline onto my carhauler with these gaskets in place!
